Concept: Okay i now, i now 'trend-whoring' but the cool wood pattern background is a way too nice looking trend for me to pass on. The design is just a quick portfolio concept i wanted to get out of my head. Hate it or love it.

I think the pink camera detracts way too much from the rest of the site - that solid block of colour really knocks you over the head. On the entry page I don't mind it as much, but on the photograph pages, you really want the viewer to be looking at the photographs, not distracted by the camera.

I also think that more prominence should be given to the photos on the main page. After all, it is the portfolio of your photographs, and all a visitor sees on the main page is a thumbnail. Perhaps have your most recent picture displayed in the middle on the entry page, so the viewer immediately knows what the site is about, and is drawn into your work.

you actually make a really good point, however i like the simplicity of the first page, and would like the visitor to not be thrown into the portfolio too quickly. It's kind of like a small step before the plunge. as for the camera i really agree, and suppose it could be scaled down and changed to something more neutral on the portfolio pages.

oh and thank you so much for actually making a 'real comment'. comments like these are getting way too rare, and i deeply appreciate you taking the time to make a difference.
